Isabella in the cauldron

Isabella in the cauldron

Oil on canvas
80 x 80 cm
unframed

This autumnal still-life is organized around an old kitchen copper cauldron. The harvest of the grapes overflows with its colors between blue-blackish pruine and lees of wine, to be the counterweight of roses in a pure tone. The returned vine leaves, sometimes illuminated with white, sometimes tempered with orange, frames the composition and highlights the single coppery rose. The window dazzles the composition and suggests an outward perspective.
